Now is the season to make nourishing meat stocks/broths.
They are so easy and cost effective and you can use any bony/meaty part of the animal, such as cartilage, marrow, bone fatty meat ends. Properly prepared meat stocks are very nutritious and support healthy gut health and digestion due to its high gelatin and mineral content.
Traditionally, every household would have a pot of stock on their stoves and it would be dished out as "penicillan" a valued remedy for the cold and flu. A gelatin rich broth on a daily basis, provides continuous protection from many health problems.
Sometimes it can be a struggle to to get children to ingest meat broths especially the fussy ones. This broth smoothie is so delicious and reminds me of a mango lassi with the healing benefits of turmeric, cinnamon, coconut and cardamom.
If you are struggling to get your children to ingest meat broths , you definitely want to try this recipe out.
